Directory/AI note takers
An AI note taker records or joins your interviews and calls, transcribes them and writes a summary, so you can listen to the candidate instead of typing. Recruiting tools go further and write the notes into your ATS as structured feedback or scorecards.
Recruiting note takers such as Metaview, BrightHire, Carv and CoRecruit know the candidate and the job and push notes to the candidate record. General tools such as Otter, Fireflies and Fathom cost less and have free plans, but you copy the notes into your ATS yourself.
Check which ATS it writes to, whether it covers phone calls and in person interviews as well as video, whether a bot joins the call, and how it handles candidate consent and data retention.
Yes. Otter, Fireflies, Fathom, Read AI, Grain and Noota all have free plans, with limits on minutes, meetings or AI summaries. Each listing below shows plan prices checked on the vendor site.

34. Each listing records its starting price, free plan, free trial, MCP and API support the same way, so the cards can be compared line for line.
21 of the 34 list a US dollar starting price, and the median of those is about $19. Units differ by vendor (per seat, per month, per check or credit pack), so compare the unit on each card, not just the number. 10 are priced by quote, so the vendor sets the number after a call.
15 of them have a permanent free plan rather than a timed trial. 7 offer a free trial.
8 of the 34 ship a first party MCP server, and 9 publish a public API. MCP is only marked where the vendor runs the server themselves, so an agent can query the tool directly.
The tools we use ourselves are marked as picks and listed first, then everything else runs A to Z. There is no paid ranking: a sponsored slot is labelled as such and never changes a listing, its category or its position.
Counted from every published listing in this category, so the numbers move with the directory.
