The Agency Recruiting Pack

Download all 6

Six skills written for staffing and recruiting agencies, not in-house HR. They cover the work an agency desk does every day, from the first client call to the job post, and they all read one agency profile file so your fees, markets and proof points come out right every time.

Free under the MIT license. Each skill comes with a fill-in agency profile so outreach, job orders and submittals use your real terms, markets and proof points instead of made-up ones.

How to install a skill in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok

A skill is a folder with one SKILL.md file inside, plus optional reference files. The short description at the top tells the assistant when to use it; everything below is the playbook it follows. The same folder works in every app that reads the open skills standard.

Claude

  1. Open Customize (or Settings), then Skills.
  2. Upload the skill ZIP as it is. Do not unzip it.
  3. Switch it on. Claude uses it whenever a request matches its description.

Team and Enterprise owners may need to allow skills first.

Gemini Enterprise

  1. In the Gemini Enterprise web app, click Skills in the menu.
  2. Click +, then Upload skill, pick the skill ZIP and click Import.
  3. Call it with / in a chat, or let Gemini pick it up on its own.

Standard, Plus and Pay-as-you-go editions can upload. An admin has to switch skills on first.

Gemini CLI or Antigravity

  1. Unzip it into .gemini/skills/ in your project, or ~/.gemini/skills/ for every project. .agents/skills/ works too.
  2. Start a new session. Gemini finds the skill and asks before it switches it on.

ChatGPT

  1. In the sidebar, click Plugins, then the Skills tab.
  2. Click Create, then Upload from your computer, and pick the skill ZIP.
  3. ChatGPT scans it, then uses it on its own or when you @ mention it.

Skills are on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu, once an admin switches them on. On Free, Plus or Pro, paste the SKILL.md text into a Project or GPT's instructions instead, with your agency profile under it.

Grok

  1. Grok Bot has no SKILL.md upload button yet. Paste the SKILL.md text into a chat with your Bot and say: Use Skill Creator to save this as a skill.
  2. Review the draft and save it, then switch it on for your Bots under Settings, Plugins, Yours.
  3. Call it with / in a chat.

Using Grok Build, xAI's coding agent? Unzip the folder into .grok/skills/ instead.

Gemini app

  1. The regular Gemini app has no skill upload, so make a Gem.
  2. Paste everything in SKILL.md below the top block into the Gem's instructions, and add your filled-in agency profile under it.

Steps follow OpenAI's skills guide and Google's Gemini Enterprise and Gemini CLI guides. Menu names change, so check there if a label looks different. Claude Code reads skills from ~/.claude/skills/.

How we review a skill

We read every line

We open the SKILL.md itself, not a listing page. Empty stubs, scraped copies and anything mostly marketing are left out.

We check what it can do

Skills with scripts can run code. We look for hidden instructions, calls to outside servers, requests for passwords or keys, and anything that breaks a platform's terms, such as LinkedIn scraping.

We grade it for recruiters

A is specific and useful the day you install it. B is useful but generic or thin. C is narrow but worth knowing about.

A grade is our opinion of the skill on the day we read it. Authors change their files, so read a third-party skill yourself before you give it access to anything. Last reviewed October 2026.

Questions

What are Claude skills?

A skill is a set of written instructions, saved as a SKILL.md file, that teaches an AI assistant how to do one task the way you want it done. The assistant reads a one-line description of every installed skill and loads the full instructions only when your request matches, so you can install dozens without slowing it down.

Do skills work in Gemini?

Yes. Gemini Enterprise (Standard, Plus and Pay-as-you-go editions) lets you upload a skill as a ZIP or Markdown file, and Gemini CLI and Antigravity read skill folders from your project. The regular Gemini app has no skill upload, so paste the instructions into a Gem instead.

Do skills work in ChatGPT and Grok?

Yes. ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu let you upload a skill under Plugins, then Skills, once an admin switches skills on; on Free, Plus or Pro, paste the instructions into a Project or GPT. Grok Bot has no upload button yet, but it can save pasted instructions as a skill with its Skill Creator, and xAI's Grok Build coding agent reads skill folders directly.

What is the difference between a skill and an MCP server?

A skill teaches the assistant how to do a job. An MCP server gives it access to a tool, such as your ATS or email finder. They work well together: an outreach skill plus an email finder's MCP server can find the contact and write the message. See our MCP Directory.

Are third-party skills safe?

Plain instruction skills cannot do anything your assistant could not already do, but they can steer it. Skills that include scripts can run code. Read any skill before you install it, keep sends and writes on approval, and prefer skills from authors you can identify.

Can I change the agency pack?

Yes. The pack is MIT licensed, so edit, rename or share it. Most agencies only need to fill in the agency profile file, which every skill reads for your fees, markets, proof points and house rules.

How do I get my skill listed?

Send the link to your SKILL.md through our submit page. We list skills that are useful to recruiters, HR or sales teams and pass our review. Nobody can pay to be listed or to change a grade.

Third-party skills are linked to their authors' own pages, never copied here. Grades are Work Insiders' opinion and nobody pays for a listing or a grade. How we make money.
