Fifteen tools, chosen from the 713 in the directory. Nine of them are open on our own desk every morning and are marked “In our daily stack”; the other six are the tools we’d shortlist next to them. Numbered so you can refer to them, grouped by the job they do, not ranked. Updated September 2026.
How this stack fits together
Grok Bot does the finding: it scours the internet for candidates, scrapes the data, and searches new and old job openings for leads. Tomba and Prospeo find the hiring managers’ work emails; SignalHire and ContactOut find candidates’ personal emails. Instantly takes the manager leads Grok Bot gathered and runs the automated outreach, sending through Premium Inboxes on separate domains so our own domain never takes the hit.
Prosp handles LinkedIn outreach to managers and candidates. Everything lands in PCRecruiter, the ATS and CRM of record, which Grok Bot reads and writes through its MCP integration. The remaining six tools on this page are the ones we’d put beside that stack if we were building it again.
Finding candidates
Pin
SourcingAI agent
Pin is closer to an AI recruiting agent than a search box. Describe the role in plain English and it searches a claimed 850M-plus profiles drawn from dozens of data providers, scores candidates on skills rather than job-title keywords, then runs the outreach itself — email, LinkedIn and SMS — and books interviews on your calendar.
It integrates with 120-plus ATS platforms including Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Bullhorn; plans start around $99 a month with a free tier. It's built to replace your sourcing tool, contact finder and outreach tool at once, so it pays off most when you let it run the whole top of funnel.
Best for: small teams and solo recruiters covering more reqs than they can source by hand.
Juicebox
Sourcing
Juicebox (the company behind PeopleGPT) killed the Boolean string. Type what you'd tell a colleague — "senior backend engineer in Austin with fintech experience" — and it returns a ranked list from 800M-plus profiles across 30-plus sources, with the matching evidence highlighted on each card.
Pricing is published: Starter from about $99 per seat a month on annual billing, Growth around $179, autonomous sourcing agents $199 per agent on top. Searches are unlimited on paid plans but contact and export credits are metered, and Starter doesn't include phone numbers.
Best for: sourcers and hiring managers who think in sentences, not search operators.
Running the desk
Atlas
ATSCRM
Atlas is an AI recruiting CRM for agency desks: AI notes, sourcing and pipeline in one tool, built so you can ask it in plain English which candidates are live and where each role stands.
It ships a first-party MCP server, so it connects directly to Claude and other AI assistants. Pricing is quote-based.
Best for: agency desks that want to talk to their CRM, and teams already running AI assistants that want the CRM plugged in.
Spott
ATSCRM
Spott is the AI-native agency ATS and CRM. A Y Combinator company (W25) founded by three ex-consultants who'd all rotated through staffing agencies, it's built on a database that understands meaning rather than keywords: contextual matching, auto-enriched profiles, an AI note-taker that summarises calls onto the record, client-ready candidate presentations in seconds, and one inbox covering mail, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, calendar and VOIP.
It positions itself as the modern alternative to Bullhorn, Loxo and Recruit CRM, with white-glove migration; pricing we found starts around $169 per user a month. It's young, so the review history is thin.
Best for: agencies willing to move off a legacy ATS to get AI in the core rather than bolted on.
PCRecruiter In our daily stack
ATSCRMMCP
PCRecruiter is our ATS and CRM — every manager and candidate record lives here — and it's connected to Grok Bot over MCP, so the bot reads and writes the same records we do.
It's been an agency platform since 1998: candidates, clients, jobs and placements on one system, with fully customizable fields, pipeline stages and workflows, and AI matching added in recent releases. 380-plus verified reviews average 4.3 out of 5, from about $85 per user a month.
The recurring complaint is dated navigation, and setup is front-loaded: you shape it to your desk rather than the other way round.
Best for: staffing and search firms that want a system of record they can wire an AI agent into.
Getting a phone number or email
SignalHire In our daily stack
Email findersLead generationSourcing
We use SignalHire to find candidates' personal emails from LinkedIn and to run the outreach sequences to them. The extension reveals emails and phone numbers on LinkedIn, GitHub, Facebook, X and Meetup, backed by a database marketed at 850M-plus profiles.
Pricing is per credit with unlimited seats, so a team with many light users pays for reveals rather than logins; free accounts get 5 credits a month (10 with the extension installed), paid plans from about $69 a month with separate email, phone and combined tiers. It's a single-source database, so hit rates trail the waterfall tools further down this list.
Best for: recruiters reaching candidates off their work inbox, on teams with lots of occasional users.
ContactOut In our daily stack
Email findersLead generation
ContactOut is our second source for candidates' personal emails. It sits on top of LinkedIn Standard, Recruiter and Sales Navigator and surfaces work email, personal email and mobile in a couple of seconds, with 150M personal addresses in the database.
Independent testing puts business-email accuracy around 75 to 85 percent for US contacts and phones around 50 to 60 percent, so treat the phone as a bonus. Self-serve plans run about $49 to $99 per user a month; "unlimited" means fair-use caps of roughly 2,000 emails and 1,000 phones a month with no rollover.
Best for: reaching passive candidates away from their corporate inbox.
Wiza
Email findersVerificationLead generation
Wiza turns a Sales Navigator search into a verified contact list in one export — up to 2,500 contacts per list — with emails and phone numbers together, verified live at the moment you request them rather than pulled from a stale record.
Plans run from about $49 a month (Starter) to $99 (Email) and $199 (Email + Phone); it only works if you already pay for Sales Navigator, so the real cost is the two subscriptions combined.
Best for: Sales Navigator users who want to work a whole list, not one profile at a time.
Prospeo In our daily stack
Email findersLead generation
Prospeo is one of two tools we use to find hiring managers' work emails. The extension works on LinkedIn and Sales Navigator, the database is claimed at 300M-plus profiles refreshed every seven days, and credits are only charged when a result verifies.
There's a real free tier (around 75 to 100 credits a month), paid from about $39, and a mobile number costs 10 credits against 1 for an email. Bulk Sales Navigator imports can return far lower match rates than one-at-a-time lookups, and unused credits expire monthly.
Best for: individual manager lookups at a price a small desk can carry.
Tomba In our daily stack
Email findersVerificationLead generation
Tomba is our other manager email tool, and the one that does the verification. Give it a domain and it lists every publicly appearing address on it; give it a name plus domain and it returns an email with a confidence score, verified as it goes with SPF checks and catch-all detection.
It has an API, a usable free tier and paid plans from $39 a month; its 19 verified reviews average 4.7 out of 5.
Best for: mapping a company's email pattern from its domain and verifying before you send.
Clay
Lead generationOutreachEnrichment
Clay is the most powerful enrichment tool on this list and the hardest to run. It chains 150-plus data providers in waterfalls — each contact is looked up provider by provider until one hits — and in a 2,000-contact independent test that meant 78 percent email match rates against 42 percent from single-source tools. Claygent, its AI research agent, can browse the web for answers no database holds.
The costs: a spreadsheet-style interface with a real learning curve, credits that burn fast on a badly configured waterfall, and CRM sync gated behind higher tiers. Free plan with 100 credits; paid from $149 a month.
Best for: teams with someone technical enough to build and babysit an enrichment pipeline.
Reaching out
Instantly In our daily stack
Lead generationDeliverability
Instantly runs our automated outreach to hiring managers, working from the leads Grok Bot gathers. Its rule is unlimited sending accounts and unlimited warm-up on every plan, from about $37 a month: connect as many mailboxes as you like, it warms them through a 4M-plus-account network, rotates sends across them and pulls every reply into one inbox.
It's email only, and the templates lean sales, so strip them back for recruiting. Budget three to four times the headline price once you add leads and CRM, and don't trust the in-app warm-up score as proof of inbox placement.
Best for: agencies running manager or candidate outreach at volume across many inboxes.
Prosp In our daily stack
Lead generationLinkedIn
Prosp is our LinkedIn outreach tool, to managers and candidates alike. It automates connection requests and message sequences with AI-personalised messages drawn from each profile, and can send voice notes generated in your own cloned voice. Unified inbox, a Chrome extension for pulling leads, and a residential proxy per connected account.
Pricing is per LinkedIn account, from about $59 to $79 a month each, which climbs fast for agencies running five or more. It's a newer platform with a short review history.
Best for: LinkedIn-first recruiters who want replies where text messages get ignored.
Premium Inboxes In our daily stack
Deliverability
Premium Inboxes supplies the sending accounts Instantly uses for our manager outreach, on separate domains so our real company domain never carries cold email.
It provisions client-owned Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 accounts on your domains, configures SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX by hand, uploads them straight into Instantly or Smartlead and starts warm-up — in under six hours, with unlimited replacement inboxes when one gets burned. About $3.50 per inbox a month, dropping at volume; you bring the domains.
Best for: anyone sending more than a few hundred cold emails a month.
AI agents
Grok Bot In our daily stack
LinkedInOutreachAI agent
Grok Bot is xAI's agent with its own computer, and we run a team of them. Ours find candidates across the internet, scrape the data, search new and old job openings for leads, write content for this site, produce competitor reports, and search our ATS and CRM.
Give a bot a task and it signs into LinkedIn, Gmail or Salesforce, does the work and comes back with the result — it's a desk that acts, not a chat window that drafts.
Early beta, bundled with SuperGrok, with no MCP server or public API of its own yet, so it works the way a person would rather than through integrations (it reaches our PCRecruiter through that system's MCP, not its own).
Best for: recruiters who'd rather hand a bot the whole task than stitch five tools together.
How we pick
Nine tools on this page are the stack we run every day; the other six are tools we’ve compared against their category in the directory and would shortlist next to them. Sponsors can’t buy a spot. The list is reviewed each quarter with our pricing and MCP rechecks. Think we’ve missed one? Submit a tool.
