Quick answer: Most of the everyday tools recruiters use now connect to Claude or ChatGPT through an MCP server or a built in connector. Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, Zoom, Apollo, HubSpot and Salesforce all have an official route as of October 12, 2026. LinkedIn and Bullhorn do not have a first party MCP server, and Workday’s is in early availability.
Where to start: Connect the one tool you spend the most hours in, start read only, and keep every send or write action on approval. For most agency recruiters that is email or the CRM.
This is the hub for our MCP series. Each tool below has its own guide with setup steps, what the connector can and cannot do, and the safety settings to use. If the term is new to you, read our MCP server explainer first. It takes five minutes.
Which everyday recruiting tools have an MCP server?
Here is the short version for the tools recruiters open every day. “Official” means the vendor itself runs the server. Status is the label the vendor uses. Built in connectors made by Anthropic or OpenAI are noted separately, because they often do more than the vendor’s own server.
| Tool | Official MCP server? | Status | Read or write | Works in | Our guide |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gmail | Yes, from Google | Developer Preview | Read, drafts and labels; no send tool | Also built in connectors in Claude and ChatGPT | Gmail and Outlook |
| Outlook / Microsoft 365 | Yes, Microsoft Work IQ servers | Preview, not for production | Read and write mail and calendar | Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI; plus Claude’s M365 connector and ChatGPT’s Outlook app | Gmail and Outlook |
| Google Calendar | Yes, from Google | Developer Preview | Read and write events | Claude custom connector, Google Antigravity; also Claude’s built in connector | Calendar and Zoom |
| Zoom | Yes, from Zoom | In Claude’s directory since April 9, 2026 (Zoom for Claude) | Mostly read: summaries, transcripts, recordings; Zoom says it can also schedule | Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code (ChatGPT through Developer Mode) | Calendar and Zoom |
| No | None | ChatGPT app is lookup only | ChatGPT only (official app); no Claude connector | ||
| Apollo | Yes, from Apollo.io | Beta in Claude and ChatGPT | Read and write, can send one off emails | Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Replit, Cursor | Apollo |
| HubSpot | Yes, from HubSpot | Generally available since April 13, 2026 | Read, create and update; no delete | Claude (paid plans), ChatGPT | HubSpot and Salesforce |
| Salesforce | Yes, Salesforce Hosted MCP Servers | Off until an admin turns it on; Headless 360 in beta | Read only, write or full, by server chosen | Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor | HubSpot and Salesforce |
| Workday | Yes, Agent Ready Tools over MCP | Early Availability | Not confirmed for Workday Recruiting | Workday names Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot | ATS guide |
| Bullhorn | No first party server found | None | Third party read only server | Custom setup only; not in Claude’s directory | ATS guide |
| Other ATSs | 31 tools in our ATS category have one | Varies by vendor | Varies by vendor | Mostly Claude and ChatGPT | ATS guide |
Statuses move quickly. We checked every row on October 12, 2026. Previews and betas can change tools, limits or terms without much notice, so treat them as trials rather than something to build a desk process on.
What does each connector let a recruiter actually do?
Here is the one line version of each, with the detail on the spoke pages.
Gmail. Google’s own server reads threads and creates drafts but cannot send. Claude’s built in Gmail connector can send, reply and forward, and by default asks before each send. It cannot read attachment content.
Outlook and Microsoft 365. Claude’s Microsoft 365 connector reads Outlook mail, calendar, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive. It is read only by default, works on every Claude plan, and needs an Entra Global Administrator to grant consent once. Microsoft’s own Work IQ servers need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
Google Calendar. Claude’s built in connector finds times when attendees are free, creates events and responds to invites. Google’s own server is a developer preview that needs a Google Cloud project to set up.
Zoom. The Zoom connector in Claude pulls AI Companion summaries and transcripts, searches across meetings and lists action items. AI Companion features need a valid Zoom license.
LinkedIn. There is no official MCP server, and community servers that drive your logged in session put your account at risk under LinkedIn’s prohibited software policy. LinkedIn is building its own agent, Hiring Assistant, inside LinkedIn Recruiter instead.
Apollo. Search people and companies, enrich records, build lists, manage sequences and send one off emails. Company search, enrichment and job postings use credits. Candidate coverage can be thinner than LinkedIn, since the database is built for sales. See our Apollo review.
HubSpot. Create and update contacts, companies, deals and tickets from chat, with no delete. The Claude connector works on all HubSpot plans but needs a paid Claude plan. See our HubSpot review.
Salesforce. An admin picks a server (reads only, create and update, or full access) and each call runs with the signed in user’s permissions. Edition and price for MCP are not confirmed on Salesforce’s pages, so check with Salesforce. Our Salesforce Recruiting CRM page covers the staffing setup.
Workday and Bullhorn. Workday requires outside agents to be registered in its Agent System of Record, with no published price or GA date. Bullhorn has no first party server we could find. Agency ATSs such as Loxo, Recruit CRM, PCRecruiter and Greenhouse on the in house side (in open beta) already ship their own.
Which AI assistant should a recruiter connect these to?
The assistant matters less than the connector. The same tool can do more in one assistant than another, because each connector is packaged differently. A few patterns are worth knowing.
| Assistant | Strongest everyday connectors for recruiters | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Gmail, Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, Zoom, Apollo, HubSpot; plus custom connectors | HubSpot connector needs a paid plan; M365 writes need admin approval | |
| Gmail (send since June 2026), Outlook, Apollo, HubSpot, LinkedIn lookup | Gmail sending is web only on paid plans; HubSpot bulk writes capped at 10 | |
| GitHub Copilot CLI and Claude Code | Microsoft’s own Work IQ servers for Outlook mail, calendar, Teams and more | Needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot license; servers are in preview, not for production |
| Named as a client for Workday’s MCP tools | Workday tools are early availability only |
If your company runs on Microsoft, Claude’s Microsoft 365 connector is the lowest cost route today, since it works on every Claude plan. Microsoft’s own route needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Microsoft lists the Copilot Business add on at $18 per user per month paid yearly as a first year promotion through December 31, 2026, normally $21. For more on day to day use, see how recruiters use Claude.
How do you pick the first MCP connector to set up?
Do not connect everything at once. Each connector is another place where an assistant can read data or take action, and each one is easier to learn alone. Use these four steps.
1. Pick the tool you copy and paste from most
Count where your time goes. If you spend an hour a day pulling details out of email threads, start with Gmail or Outlook. If you live in the CRM, start there. The first connector should save time on day one.
2. Prefer official and generally available
A server the vendor runs, with a GA label, is the safest first step. HubSpot is GA. Apollo is beta. Google’s and Microsoft’s own servers are previews. Built in connectors from Anthropic or OpenAI are a good middle ground for email and calendar.
3. Start read only
Ask questions before you let the assistant change anything. Summaries, searches and lists teach you how it behaves. Turn on write tools later, one at a time.
4. Keep sends, writes and credits on approval
Apollo can send email and spend credits. Claude’s Gmail connector can send. HubSpot and Apollo both recommend approval settings, and admins on team plans control them. Never let an assistant contact a candidate or client without you reading the message first.
| If your day is mostly… | Connect first | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Email with candidates and hiring managers | Gmail or Microsoft 365 | Built in connectors, read first, sends on approval |
| Client BD and pipeline | HubSpot or Salesforce | Your deals and contacts in one place; HubSpot is GA |
| Finding contacts at target accounts | Apollo | Search and enrichment from chat, watch credits |
| Interviews and intake calls | Zoom and Google Calendar | Call summaries and scheduling without retyping notes |
| Running reqs in an ATS | Your ATS, if it has a server | Check our ATS guide first |

Claude prompt: Monday desk review across connectors
Using my connected [EMAIL TOOL] and [CRM], list every hiring manager or client who emailed me in the last 7 days and has an open deal or job in the CRM. For each one, give me the company, the last thing they asked for, the deal or job stage, and a suggested next step. Do not send any email and do not change any CRM record. Put it in a table sorted by who has waited longest for a reply.

Where can you find every recruiting tool with its own MCP server?
This hub covers the everyday tools. For the specialist recruiting software, we keep two live resources from the Work Insiders directory.
Our live MCP tracker counts how many recruiting, lead generation and HR tools ship a first party MCP server, by category. Our Claude connectors list groups every recruiting tool with its own server by job, with the server URLs to paste.
We also run our own Work Insiders MCP server. It is free and read only, it covers our directory of recruiting, HR and sales tools, and it works in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. Ask it which ATSs have an MCP server, or compare two sourcing tools by price, without leaving your chat.
What are the risks of connecting work tools to AI?
The main risks are an assistant acting on the wrong record, sending something you did not mean to send, and moving candidate data somewhere it should not go. Connectors reduce copying and pasting, but they also put real actions one sentence away.
Use admin consent where your plan offers it, keep write tools on approval, and only connect the accounts you need. Never use a LinkedIn tool that logs in as you or copies your cookies; LinkedIn’s User Agreement bans it and accounts can be restricted. If AI helps rank or screen candidates, check the rules where you hire with our AI hiring law checker.
Quick answers
What is the best MCP server for recruiters?
The one for the tool you use most. For many agency recruiters that is email or the CRM, and HubSpot’s server is the most mature of the everyday tools, generally available since April 2026.
Is there an official LinkedIn MCP server?
No. ChatGPT has an official LinkedIn app for profile lookups only. Third party servers that use your login risk account restriction.
Does Bullhorn have an MCP server?
We found no first party Bullhorn server and no Bullhorn connector in Claude’s directory. A third party read only server exists. Check with Bullhorn for plans.
Do I need a paid AI plan?
It depends on the connector. Claude’s Microsoft 365 connector works on every plan, while HubSpot’s Claude connector needs a paid Claude plan and ChatGPT’s Gmail sending needs Plus or above.
Can these connectors send emails for me?
Some can. Claude’s Gmail connector, ChatGPT’s Gmail and Outlook apps and Apollo’s server can send. Google’s own Gmail server cannot. Keep sends on approval.
Where do I see every recruiting tool with an MCP server?
Our live tracker has the count, and the connectors list has the server URLs.
The bottom line
Almost every everyday recruiting tool now has a way into Claude or ChatGPT, but the labels matter: HubSpot is GA, Apollo is beta, Google and Microsoft’s own servers are previews, Workday is early availability, and LinkedIn and Bullhorn have no first party server. Start with the one tool you live in, keep it read only until you trust it, and keep every send and write on approval. Then work through the guides above one at a time.
