Privacy Policy

Work Insiders ("we", "us") runs workinsiders.com, an independent directory of recruiting, lead-generation and HR software. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why, and the choices you have. We do not sell personal information.

Information we collect
Information you give us
- Submit-a-tool form: product name, website, category, pricing type, a one-line pitch, and your email address. This is sent to us by email and is not stored in a database on the site. Product details you submit may be published in the directory; your email address is not published.
- Sponsor and support inquiries by email: whatever you include in your message.
- Comments (where enabled): the name, email and website you enter, plus your IP address and browser details for spam prevention. An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to display a profile picture; see https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Information collected automatically
- Server and security logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited and timestamps, kept by our hosting provider and by the Wordfence security plugin to protect the site.
- Cloudflare, our network provider, sets a short-lived cookie (__cf_bm) to block automated abuse.
- Google Analytics 4, only if you click Accept on the cookie banner: device and browser type, approximate location, pages visited and how you move through the site. We use it to understand which parts of the directory are useful. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Cookies
The cookie banner records your choice in a cookie named blocksy_cookies_consent_accepted. If you click Decline, analytics does not load; the site still works. If you Accept, Google Analytics cookies are set. Comment and login cookies are only set if you use those features. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time.
How we use information
- To run, secure and improve the site.
- To review tool submissions and publish listings.
- To reply to your inquiries and manage sponsorships.
- To understand site traffic in aggregate.
Newsletter: we run an optional email newsletter. If you enter your email in a newsletter signup box on the site, it is stored by SendFox, the service that sends the newsletter for us, and used only to send you the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask to be removed by emailing support@workinsiders.com. We only add you to the list when you sign up yourself, and we do not use your email for any other marketing or sell or share the list. SendFox’s privacy policy: https://sendfox.com/privacy.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site — hosting (Bluehost), network security (Cloudflare), analytics (Google, if you consent), site security (Wordfence), email delivery, newsletter sending (SendFox, only if you sign up), and Gravatar for comment avatars — each under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the site and its users.
Work Insiders MCP server
We run a free, read-only MCP server at https://workinsiders.com/mcp that lets AI assistants such as Claude, Grok and ChatGPT look up directory listings. It needs no account and no sign-in. Setup steps are on our MCP server page.
- What it receives: the request your AI assistant sends, such as a tool name and search words. We use it only to answer that request and do not store the words you searched for or the text of your conversation.
- What we keep: a daily count of which tools were called and the name of the AI app that connected (for example “claude-ai”), kept for 60 days. No IP addresses, names or email addresses are kept.
- Rate limiting: to protect the site, each request is placed in a counter by a salted, one-way hash of its network address. The counter resets every 10 minutes and cannot be turned back into an address.
- What it shares: only public directory data that is already on workinsiders.com. It cannot read your files, other connectors or chats, and it cannot change anything on our site or yours.
- Third parties: requests pass through Cloudflare and our hosting provider like any other visit, under their own privacy terms. The AI app you use handles your conversation under its own privacy policy.
Job board
- Browsing jobs: we do not collect anything extra. When you click Apply you leave our site, and the employer or job site handles your application under its own privacy policy. We never see your application.
- Posting a job: we store the job details you enter (they are published) and your email address (it is not published). We use your email only to send you the private link to close or renew the job. We also store a one-way hash of your network address to limit spam, which cannot be turned back into an address.
- Posted jobs and their details are deleted about 90 days after the job closes. You can ask us to delete a job and your email sooner at support@workinsiders.com.
Embedded content
Blog posts may embed content from other sites such as YouTube or X. Those embeds behave as if you visited that site and may set their own cookies or collect data under that site's policy.
How long we keep information
Submission and inquiry emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request and maintain the related listing. Security logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting and security providers. Comments and their metadata are kept while the post is published.
Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you will not be treated differently for asking. Email support@workinsiders.com; we may ask you to verify your identity. Some information may be kept where the law requires or for security. Vendors may also ask us to correct or remove a listing at any time.
International visitors
Work Insiders is operated in the United States and information is processed there. By using the site you understand your information may be transferred to and stored in the US.
Children
The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS, a web application firewall and security monitoring. No website can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; the effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
