How to connect it

Add the server URL to your AI app once. There is nothing to sign in to, so it works as soon as it is added.

  1. Go to Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector, name it Work Insiders and paste the server URL.
  3. Click Add. There is no sign-in step.
  4. In a chat, open the + menu and switch it on under Connectors.

Team and Enterprise

An owner adds it once

  1. The owner goes to Organization settings, then Connectors.
  2. Click Add, choose Custom, paste the server URL and click Add.
  3. Everyone else goes to Customize, then Connectors, and clicks Connect.

  1. Run claude mcp add --transport http work-insiders https://workinsiders.com/mcp
  2. Type /mcp to check it shows as connected.

Grok's custom connectors

  1. Go to grok.com/connectors.
  2. Click New Connector, then Custom.
  3. Paste the server URL. There is no sign-in step.
  4. Ask Grok a question about recruiting tools. On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin adds the connector first.

  1. Send the bot: Add a custom MCP server called work-insiders at https://workinsiders.com/mcp (say "custom MCP server" so it does not pick a catalog plugin instead).
  2. Check the name and URL, then click Add it.
  3. Type @ in a chat and attach work-insiders to use it. It also shows under Settings, then Plugins, then Yours.

What it can and cannot do

  • Read only. Every tool only reads public directory data. Nothing can be changed, sent or bought through it.
  • No account, no keys. There is no sign-in, so it never sees your email, your other connectors or your files.
  • Your questions are not stored. We count which tools are called each day and which AI app called them. No IP addresses and no question text are kept.
  • Prices are dated. Each starting price shows when it was checked on the vendor's own pricing page. Confirm current terms with the vendor before you buy.
  • Want to work inside a tool? Connect that vendor's own server. Our Claude connectors page lists every recruiting tool that runs one.

Questions about the MCP server

Is the Work Insiders MCP server free?

Yes. It is free, needs no account, no sign-in and no API key. Add the server URL to your AI app and start asking.

Where do the answers come from?

From the Work Insiders directory itself: the same listings, starting prices, MCP and API flags, write-ups, alternatives and ATS integration data you see on the site. Each answer links back to the tool page it came from.

How current is the data?

The server reads the live directory. When a listing changes, the next answer reflects it. Starting prices carry the date they were checked against the vendor's own pricing page, so you can see how fresh each one is.

Can it change anything or see my data?

No. Every tool on the server is read only and only reads public directory data. It cannot see your other connectors, files or chats, and it does not store what you ask. We keep a daily count of which tools are called and which AI app called them. No IP addresses and no question text are stored; the rate limit uses a short-lived, salted hash that cannot be turned back into an address.

Is this the same as a vendor's MCP server?

No. This server answers questions about recruiting and HR tools. To work inside a tool, such as searching your own ATS, connect that vendor's own MCP server. Our Claude connectors page lists every recruiting tool that has one.

Which AI apps does it work with?

Any app that can add a remote MCP server by URL: Claude on the web, desktop and Claude Code, Grok on grok.com, Grok Bot, the xAI API, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, and ChatGPT where your plan allows custom connectors. The transport is Streamable HTTP with no authentication.

I make one of these tools. How do I fix my listing?

Send the correction through the contact page with a link to your own pricing or docs page. Once the listing is updated, the MCP server answers with the new details straight away.
