Quick answer: Yes, Google Calendar and Zoom both have official MCP servers. Google’s Calendar MCP server is a Developer Preview that can list, create, update and delete events and suggest meeting times. Zoom runs official MCP servers for meetings, plus a Zoom for Claude connector that brings AI Companion summaries, transcripts and action items into Claude.
What to do first: If you use Claude, turn on its built in Google Calendar connector and the Zoom connector from Claude’s directory. Let the AI find times and pull call notes, but keep anything that sends invites or changes a candidate’s interview on your approval.
This page is part of our guide to MCP servers for recruiters. It covers the two tools that eat most of a recruiter’s day after email: the calendar that holds every interview and the video calls where the real information comes out.
Is there a Google Calendar MCP server?
Yes. Google runs an official Google Calendar MCP server at https://calendarmcp.googleapis.com/mcp/v1. It is a Developer Preview, so expect changes.
Its tools cover the whole scheduling job: list calendars, list events, get an event, suggest a time, create an event, update an event, delete an event and respond to an event invite.
Setup is technical. You need a Google Cloud project and an OAuth client. Once that is done, Google says it works in Claude as a custom connector on Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plans, and in Google Antigravity.
For most recruiters, that setup is more than you need. The calendar connector already built into Claude covers the same ground with a simple sign in.
What can Claude and ChatGPT do with Google Calendar?
Claude’s Calendar connector views your events, including shared calendars. It creates, updates and deletes events, finds times when attendees are free, manages attendees, responds to invites and handles recurring meetings. That is most of what interview coordination needs.
ChatGPT also has a Google Calendar app. We could not confirm that ChatGPT’s Google Calendar app creates or edits events, so treat it as a way to read your schedule unless OpenAI says otherwise.
| Option | Reads events | Creates and edits events | Finds free times | Setup |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Calendar MCP server | Yes | Yes | Yes, suggest time tool | Developer Preview; Google Cloud project and OAuth client |
| Claude Calendar connector | Yes, including shared calendars | Yes | Yes | Sign in from Claude |
| ChatGPT Google Calendar app | Yes | Not confirmed | Not confirmed | Sign in from ChatGPT |
If your company runs on Outlook instead, Microsoft’s preview Work IQ Calendar server and the Claude and ChatGPT Outlook connectors cover calendars too. We explain those on our Gmail and Outlook MCP page.
Is there a Zoom MCP server?
Yes. Zoom publishes official MCP servers, including a Meetings server at https://zoom.us/mcp/meeting/streamable.
To set one up yourself, you need a Zoom account with admin or developer rights and a General app created in the Zoom Marketplace, which handles sign in through OAuth with PKCE. Zoom’s connection guide lists Claude as a custom connector, ChatGPT through Developer Mode, Cursor and VS Code as clients. Rate limits are higher on Business, Enterprise and Education accounts.
There is also an easier route. Zoom launched the Zoom for Claude connector on April 9, 2026, listed in Claude’s connector directory. It brings AI Companion meeting summaries, transcripts and recordings into Claude, lets you search across meetings and pulls out action items. Zoom says it also has scheduling capabilities. You need a valid Zoom license for the AI Companion features.
Press coverage of a May 18, 2026 expansion describes search across Zoom Meetings, Chat, Phone and Canvas, My Notes in ChatGPT and a Codex plugin. We have not confirmed the exact tool names, whether the connector can create meetings, or which Zoom plans each feature needs, so check with Zoom before you plan around those.
| Option | What it gives you | Who it suits | What you need |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zoom MCP servers | Official meetings server for AI clients | Technical users and custom setups | Zoom admin or developer rights; a General app in Zoom Marketplace |
| Zoom for Claude connector | AI Companion summaries, transcripts, recordings, meeting search, action items | Recruiters using Claude | A valid Zoom license for AI Companion features |
| ChatGPT Developer Mode | Connects Zoom’s MCP servers to ChatGPT | Technical users on ChatGPT | Zoom app setup as above |
How do recruiters use calendar and Zoom connectors together?
The value shows up when one assistant can see both your schedule and what was said on the calls. A few realistic jobs:
- Interview scheduling: ask Claude to find three slots next week when you and the hiring manager are both free, then draft the invite for you to check.
- Debrief notes: after a client intake call, pull the Zoom AI Companion summary and turn it into a clean job brief.
- Action items: list every promise you made on calls this week (“send two more profiles by Friday”) so nothing slips.
- Weekly prep: each Monday, list the week’s interviews with candidate name, role and time, plus a link back to any earlier call summary.
- Reschedules: when a candidate asks to move, find the next shared free slot and prepare the change for your approval.
If you want this to run on a timer, our guide to scheduled tasks with Claude shows how. For broader ideas, see Claude for recruiters.
Claude prompt: intake call to job brief
Find my Zoom meeting with [HIRING MANAGER NAME] from [DATE] about the [JOB TITLE] role. Using the AI Companion summary and transcript, write a one page job brief with: must have skills, nice to have skills, salary range mentioned, interview steps, deal breakers and open questions I still need to ask. Then check my Google Calendar and suggest three 45 minute slots next week when I am free for the first candidate interviews. Do not create or send any calendar invites.
How do you connect Google Calendar and Zoom to Claude safely?
1. Turn on the Google Calendar connector
In Claude, open connectors and enable Google Calendar, then sign in with your Google account. On a company Google Workspace, your admin may need to approve Claude first. On Claude Team or Enterprise, an Owner enables connectors for the organization.
2. Add Zoom from Claude’s directory
Find Zoom in Claude’s connector directory and sign in with your Zoom account. If you want AI Companion summaries and transcripts, check that your Zoom license includes AI Companion.
3. Start with reading, not writing
For the first week, ask questions only: what is on my calendar, what did the client say, what did I promise. Get a feel for how accurate the answers are before you let the assistant change anything.
4. Keep invites and changes on approval
Claude’s calendar connector can create, update and delete events and respond to invites. A wrong time or a deleted interview damages trust with candidates and clients. Ask Claude to propose changes and confirm each one yourself.
5. Treat call content as candidate data
Interview transcripts hold salaries, reasons for leaving and personal details. Tell candidates when calls are recorded or summarized, follow the consent rules where you hire, and use our AI hiring law checker if AI plays any part in evaluating candidates.
Are there recruiting tools that do this with their own MCP server?
Yes. Several scheduling and interview tools in our directory run a first party MCP server, which means the vendor itself hosts it. If you already use one, it may be a better fit than a general calendar or Zoom connection.
| Tool | What it does | Category |
|---|---|---|
| The default meeting scheduler | Scheduling | |
| Recruiter self scheduling pages and reminders | Scheduling | |
| AI notes for every interview | Interviewing | |
| Interview intelligence | Interviewing | |
| AI meeting notes from device audio, no bot joins the call | AI note takers |
The full list, with server URLs, is on our Claude connectors for recruiting page, and the live MCP tracker shows how many recruiting tools now have one. You can also look any tool up from inside your assistant with our free, read only Work Insiders MCP server.
What are the limits and risks?
- Previews change. Google’s Calendar MCP server is a Developer Preview. Tools and setup can change.
- Setup can need admin rights. Zoom’s own MCP servers need admin or developer rights and a Marketplace app. Company Google accounts may need admin approval.
- Licenses matter. Zoom’s AI Companion features in Claude need a valid Zoom license. Without it, there may be no summaries to pull.
- Not every feature is confirmed. We could not confirm that ChatGPT’s Google Calendar app edits events, or that the Zoom connector creates meetings.
- Calendar writes affect real people. A deleted interview or a double booked slot lands on a candidate. Keep a human check on every change.
