Bottom line

Lavender is an AI email coach that scores and rewrites your sales emails inside Gmail, Outlook and sales engagement tools. It suits recruiters and agency owners who write their own business development emails and want them tighter. There is a free plan with 5 emails a month, paid plans start at $27 a month billed annually, and paid plans come with a 7-day free trial.

Stands out for: Lavender coaches the email you are writing right now, with a live score and fixes, instead of generating a whole sequence for you like Instantly or lemlist AI writers do. It is also free for students, jobseekers and bootstrapped entrepreneurs, which is rare for a sales tool.

Watch out for: Integrations with sales tools such as Outreach and Salesloft need Individual Pro at $45 a month or higher, so the cheaper Starter plan is really for Gmail and Outlook only. Ora, the AI agent, is priced separately at $500 per agent a month once launched.

Overview

Lavender calls itself the email intelligence company. Its main product is the Email Coach, a browser add-on that sits in your inbox, scores each email or template against best practice and lets AI fix whatever is holding replies back. It works in Gmail and Outlook and plugs into sales tools such as Outreach, Salesloft, HubSpot, Apollo, Groove and Gong.

Next to the score, the Personalization Assistant brings prospect data into the compose window and suggests ways to personalize, along with personality-based insights about the recipient. Managers on the Team Plan get a Coaching Dashboard that tracks performance across the team and shows who needs help.

Lavender also sells Ora, an AI agent built on the same email data. You upload a lead list as a CSV or connect Salesforce, train Ora on your inbox and give it instructions, and it researches the prospect, company and market before writing. Ora is free to build and priced per agent once launched.

For a recruiter doing business development, the Email Coach is the practical piece. It keeps your client outreach short and readable without changing the tools you already send from, and one of the testimonials on the Coach page comes from a search firm owner.

Who it's for

Best for

  • Recruiters writing their own BD emails in Gmail or Outlook
  • Agency owners coaching a small team of business developers
  • Reps who want feedback on each email, not a sequence generator
  • Jobseekers and new recruiters who qualify for the free offer

Not ideal for

  • Teams that want a full sending and sequencing platform
  • High-volume campaigns where nobody writes emails one by one
  • Budgets that cannot stretch to $45 a month for integrations

Key features

Email scoring. The Email Coach scores every email or template as you write and points out what hurts your reply rate. Lavender says emails scoring 90 or above get more replies.

AI fixes and AI Email Writer. AI rewrites the parts of a draft that hold replies back, and the AI Email Writer suggests full drafts.

Personalization Assistant. Prospect data shows up next to your draft, with suggested angles and personality-based insights about the recipient.

Coaching Dashboard. On the Team Plan, managers see email performance across the team, what is working and who needs help.

Ora AI agent. Upload a CSV or connect Salesforce, train Ora on your inbox, and it researches the prospect, company and market and writes the emails.

Works where you send. Runs in Gmail and Outlook and connects to Outreach, Salesloft, HubSpot, Apollo, Groove and Gong.
