Where they pull apart

CodeSignal

Stands out: One credit pool for certified assessments and role-based AI interviewers, with Grow adding basic ATS hooks.

Watch out: Build includes 60 annual credits, or 5 a month on monthly billing. Extra credits are $20 each. ATS integrations and API access start on Grow.

Not the right fit for

  • Teams that only need a free coding-practice product
  • Buyers who need ATS integrations on the cheapest Hire plan

Mercer Mettl

Stands out: A large job-skills library, pay-as-you-go packaging language, and AI-based remote proctoring sit on one Mercer-branded cloud. The vendor cites 6,000-plus customers, 25 million-plus assessments a year, and 20-plus languages.

Watch out: There is no public per-test or per-seat table. You pick products on a form and wait for a quote. This is an assessment platform, not an ATS.

Not the right fit for

  • SMBs that want a published $142/mo test library they can buy online
  • Teams that only need a cognitive screen like Wonderlic Select
