Bottom line
OpenComment AI is a LinkedIn engagement tool that watches the public posts of people you want to reach and drafts comments for you to approve, so you are a familiar name before you connect or email. It suits recruiters, founders and sales teams warming up a target list, with a free plan and paid plans from $29 a month.
Stands out for: It sits before outreach rather than replacing it: no connection requests or DMs are sent, you start every posting run yourself and no LinkedIn password is stored. Post Monitor works on its own for keeping up with clients or competitors, and a first-party MCP server lets Claude or another assistant research people and plan campaigns within credit limits you set.
Watch out for: The headline 33% acceptance figure comes from one small October 2026 campaign of 48 people, compared with a group that had not posted recently, and the vendor itself says it shows no causal uplift. Commenting only works on people who post publicly, credits do not roll over, and the company dates from 2024 with no outside reviews yet.
Overview
OpenComment's workflow has four steps: discover the right people, monitor their public LinkedIn posts, engage with an AI-drafted comment you approve, then track what came back.
Contacts come from Lead Search by position, company and location, Apollo, Keyword Search, Conference Search, AI Discovery, or a manual CSV, Excel or LinkedIn URL import. You review candidates and save the ones you want to Contact Lists.
Campaign rounds surface eligible posts from your audience and prepare comment drafts in your chosen style and persona. You review, edit, approve or skip each one, then start the posting run from the Chrome extension, either comment by comment or as a capped Auto Submit run.
Post Monitor can run without any campaign, for following clients, industry voices or competitors through Monitor Lists. After commenting, available reactions and replies sync back so each contact shows the interactions recorded so far.
A first-party MCP server at mcp.opencomment.ai lets compatible assistants such as Claude research prospects, summarise public activity and prepare campaigns, with company, permissions and credit limits chosen by you. Pricing is by credits: Free (100 a month), Starter $29 (1,800) and Pro $99 (6,700). The company was founded in 2024 by Ben Liu.
