Bottom line
Google Postmaster Tools is Google's own free dashboard for how Gmail rates the mail you send to personal Gmail accounts. Every cold email sender targeting Gmail inboxes should have it set up on each sending domain. It costs nothing and needs only a Google account and a DNS record per domain.
Stands out for: It is the only place to see the user-reported spam rate and compliance status Gmail itself measures you on, where third-party tools estimate placement from seed tests. Paid tools such as GlockApps and Warmy pull their Gmail reputation data from this same source.
Watch out for: Data covers only personal Gmail addresses, so it says nothing about Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 inboxes, which is where most B2B recruiting outreach lands. Low volume domains often show no data at all, and dashboards lag by about a day.
Overview
Postmaster Tools is a free Google service for monitoring the email you send to personal Gmail accounts. You add the domain you use for SPF or DKIM, verify ownership with a TXT or CNAME record, and the dashboards start filling once Gmail sees enough of your mail.
The dashboards cover compliance status, spam rate, IP reputation, domain reputation, feedback loop, authentication, encryption and delivery errors. You can view the last 7, 30, 60, 90 or 120 days, and add subdomains separately to see them on their own.
The compliance status dashboard is the most useful for outbound teams. It checks you against Gmail's sender guidelines, including SPF and DKIM, DNS records, message formatting, encryption and spam rate, plus DMARC and one-click unsubscribe for bulk senders who send about 5,000 or more messages a day to Gmail.
For recruiters, it matters mainly when your candidate outreach goes to Gmail addresses. Business outreach to company domains is not covered, so pair it with a seed test or warm-up tool if your lists are mostly corporate inboxes.

- B2B outreach aimed mainly at company inboxes on Workspace or Microsoft 365

Key features
Spam rate dashboard. Shows the percentage of your mail that Gmail users manually mark as spam, the number Gmail's bulk sender rules are measured against.
Compliance status. Marks each Gmail sender requirement as Compliant, Needs work or No data found, covering SPF, DKIM, DNS, encryption, spam rate and, for bulk senders, DMARC and one-click unsubscribe.
Deliverability analysis. Gives a recommendation on your domain's standing with Gmail when you send too little, fail delivery, exceed the spam threshold or show low engagement.
Authentication and encryption. Reports the share of your mail passing SPF, DKIM and DMARC and the share sent over TLS.
Delivery errors. Shows the percentage of authenticated messages Gmail rejected or temporarily deferred.
Shared access. Domain owners can add teammates with a Google account to view the same dashboards.
