Where they pull apart

Buffer

Stands out: MCP is included on the free plan, so Claude or ChatGPT can draft and queue posts without a paid seat.

Watch out: The $5 figure is per channel on yearly billing; monthly costs more. Free caps you at 10 scheduled posts per channel and one user.

Not the right fit for

  • Newsrooms that need a full social suite beyond scheduling
  • Users who only want LinkedIn commenting, not a multi-network queue

Ordinal

Stands out: Pro adds unlimited seats, team engagement, and API and MCP access at no per-seat cost.

Watch out: API and MCP start on Pro ($235/mo annual, $265 monthly), not Starter. Extra social profiles are $20/mo each.

Not the right fit for

  • Solo creators who only need a cheap LinkedIn writer
  • Buyers who want API or MCP on Starter
