Who this path is for
Recruiting team leads, agency owners and talent acquisition managers who choose the tools, sign the contracts and answer for the results. It covers what the tools really do, the risks you own, how to buy well and how to bring a team along.
Tick each step as you finish it. Your ticks are saved in this browser only. Every stage ends with one thing to try on your own desk or team.

Stage 1: Know what the tools really do
Cut through vendor demos: what counts as an agent, how tools connect and what AI can actually do today.
- Read: What is AI in recruiting?
- Read: Chatbot vs copilot vs AI agent
- Read: What can AI recruiting agents do today?
- Read: How does AI connect to your recruiting tools? Then run your stack through the MCP readiness checker.
- Your desk: have each person on the team fill in the task checker and collect the results in one list.
Stage 2: The risks you own
Bias, audits, notice and data handling land on whoever chose the tool. Learn them before you sign.
- Read: How does bias get into AI hiring tools?
- Read: What is an AI bias audit?
- Read: Which AI hiring laws apply to you?
- Read: What should you tell candidates about AI?
- Read: What candidate data can you put into ChatGPT?
- Your desk: write your team’s AI rules with the team rules prompt in the reporting and process prompts, and have legal or HR read them.
Stage 3: Choose and budget the tools
Decide what success means before the demo, price the whole stack and check it works with your ATS.
- Read: How do you evaluate an AI recruiting tool?
- Read: How do you build an AI recruiting stack on a small budget?
- Read: ChatGPT, Claude or Grok, and which plan do you need? Check which plans keep your data out of training.
- Price your current stack with the stack cost estimator and check tools against your ATS with the ATS compatibility checker.
- Your desk: pick the one tool you are closest to buying and score it against two others with the checklist from the evaluation lesson.
Stage 4: Roll it out and measure
Take a starting measurement, automate the paperwork, give the team a plan and report the return.
- Read: How do you measure the ROI of AI in recruiting? Record your starting numbers now.
- Read: How do you automate a recruiting workflow?
- Read: When should you connect ChatGPT, Claude or Grok to your ATS and CRM?
- Read: Will AI replace recruiters? Use it to open the conversation with your team.
- Give each person the learning path for their desk, and share the AI instructions builder so everyone starts with the same rules.
- Your desk: set a date eight weeks out to compare time to submit, response rates and hours saved against your starting numbers.
Quick answers
Do I need to read the hands-on lessons too?
Not all of them. This path is about choosing and governing tools. Skim the path your team is taking so you know what they are being asked to do.
What should I measure first?
Whatever you already track and trust, such as time to submit, response rate and hires per recruiter. Record it before rollout, or you will have nothing to compare with.
