Quick answer: Some do, most do not. Of the 183 ATS products in the Work Insiders directory, 31 run their own first party MCP server, including Greenhouse (open beta), Workday (early access), Loxo, Recruit CRM, PCRecruiter, Ashby and Zoho Recruit. Bullhorn does not have one that we could find.
If your ATS is not on the list: Do not reach for an unofficial workaround with full write access. Check with the vendor, use a read only option if one exists, and keep candidate data inside tools your company has approved.
This guide is part of our series on MCP servers for recruiters. An MCP server is the official doorway that lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT read, and sometimes update, records in another tool using your own login.
For an ATS, that means asking Claude “which candidates in my Senior Accountant pipeline have not heard from us in a week?” and getting an answer from live data. Whether you can do that depends entirely on which ATS you use.
Which ATS platforms have a first party MCP server?
We checked our own directory. “First party” means the ATS vendor runs the server itself. An API alone does not count, and neither does a community project.
Here is every ATS listing in the Work Insiders directory flagged with a first party MCP server, as of October 12, 2026. Prices are each tool’s starting price as recorded on its tool page; follow the link for plan details and the date checked.

Three of these are our ATS category editor picks: PCRecruiter, Atlas and Spott. For the running total across every recruiting category, see the live MCP tracker. For server URLs grouped by job, see our Claude connectors list.
A first party flag tells you the vendor runs a server. It does not tell you which actions that server allows. Open the tool page, then the vendor’s own docs, before you connect.
Does Workday have an MCP server?
Yes, in early form. Workday says its Agent Ready Tools are delivered over MCP in Early Availability, and its blog names Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot as clients. That blog post does not mention recruiting.
Outside agents connect through the Workday Agent Gateway. Each external agent has to be registered in Workday’s Agent System of Record (ASOR), endpoints are regional, and the gateway covers Workday’s public APIs.
Our Workday tool page notes that the tools live inside each company’s tenant, so there is no single public URL.
What we could not confirm: a price, a general availability date, specific Workday Recruiting coverage, or a Workday listing in the Claude or ChatGPT connector directories. If you are a recruiter at a Workday company, your HR IT team owns this decision.
Does Bullhorn have an MCP server?
Not a first party one that we could find, and Bullhorn is not in Claude’s connector directory. Our Bullhorn tool page also lists no MCP.
There are third party options. Osher released an open source server that is read only. Carly has also written that Bullhorn is not listed in Anthropic’s directory.
A third party server is not supported by Bullhorn. If you try one, keep it read only, run it on an account with limited permissions, and get sign off from whoever owns your Bullhorn admin.
What about Greenhouse and other big names?
According to our Greenhouse tool page, Greenhouse runs a hosted MCP server at mcp.greenhouse.io that is in open beta for Core, Plus and Pro customers. Treat it as a beta: useful for testing, not something to build a whole process on yet.
Here is a quick status view of the names recruiters ask about most.
| ATS | First party MCP? | Status notes |
|---|---|---|
| Workday | Yes, early access | Through Agent Gateway; recruiting coverage not confirmed |
| Greenhouse | Yes | Open beta, Core, Plus and Pro |
| Bullhorn | No | Third party read only server exists |
| Bullhorn Recruitment Cloud, TargetRecruit, Talent Rover | None found | Built on Salesforce; see below |
| Loxo, Recruit CRM, PCRecruiter, Spott | Yes | Agency ATS options in our directory |
| Ashby, Workable, Teamtailor, Pinpoint | Yes | In house ATS options in our directory |
My ATS runs on Salesforce. Can I use Salesforce’s MCP server instead?
Maybe. Bullhorn Recruitment Cloud, TargetRecruit and Talent Rover are built on Salesforce objects, and we found no first party MCP server for any of them.
Salesforce runs hosted MCP servers that work on Salesforce objects, are off until an admin turns them on, and run with the signed in user’s permissions. In principle that could reach your ATS records. It is a possibility, not a confirmed feature, so check with your ATS vendor first. Our HubSpot and Salesforce guide explains the Salesforce servers in more detail.
How do you connect an ATS MCP server to Claude?
Every vendor is a little different, but the pattern is the same.
1. Confirm the server is first party
Check our tool page for the vendor, then the vendor’s own help docs. Note whether it is generally available, a beta or a preview.
2. Get admin consent
Your ATS admin usually has to allow the connection. In Claude Team or Enterprise, a Claude admin may need to add the connector too.
3. Start read only
If the server offers write tools, such as moving a candidate stage or adding a note, leave them on approval so Claude asks before each change.
4. Test on one requisition
Ask about a job you know well. Compare Claude’s answer with what you see in the ATS before you trust it with anything bigger.
Claude prompt: pipeline check
Using my ATS connector, look at the [JOB TITLE] requisition. List every candidate in the [STAGE NAME] stage with their name, days in stage, and the date of our last note or email. Flag anyone who has been in this stage longer than [NUMBER] days. Do not move, update or email anyone. Just give me the list and a suggested next step for each.
For more ways to use Claude on the desk, see Claude for recruiters and screening resumes with Claude.
What are the risks of connecting an ATS to AI?
An ATS holds candidate personal data, so the stakes are higher than with most tools.
| Risk | What to do |
|---|---|
| AI moves or rejects the wrong candidate | Keep write tools on approval; start read only |
| Wider access than intended | Use your own login and existing ATS permissions |
| Candidate data in an unapproved tool | Only connect assistants your company has approved |
| Beta or preview breaks | Do not build core workflows on a beta |
| AI screening rules | Check local law with our AI hiring law checker |
If AI helps rank or screen candidates, rules may apply where you hire. Our AI hiring law checker is a free starting point. If you are on the candidate side of an ATS question, try our ATS compatibility checker.
Can I search for ATS tools with MCP from inside Claude?
Yes. Our own Work Insiders MCP server is free and read only, and it works in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. Ask it “which ATS tools have a first party MCP server and a free plan?” and it answers from the same directory data used in this article.
Quick answers
How many ATS tools have an MCP server?
31 of the 183 ATS listings in our directory, as of October 12, 2026.
Does Workday have an MCP server?
Yes, in Early Availability through the Workday Agent Gateway. Recruiting coverage is not confirmed.
Is there a Bullhorn MCP server?
Not a first party one. A third party read only server exists.
Is the Greenhouse MCP server live?
It is in open beta for Core, Plus and Pro, according to our tool page.
Which agency ATS tools have MCP?
Loxo, Recruit CRM, PCRecruiter, Spott, Atlas, Recruiterflow, Recruitly, Oorwin and others in the table above.
The bottom line
About one in six ATS tools in our directory runs its own MCP server today. Workday’s is early access and Greenhouse’s is open beta. Bullhorn has none of its own. If yours is on the list, connect it read only first and keep writes on approval. If it is not, ask your vendor before trying a workaround.
