Bottom line

AssessFirst predicts job, manager and team fit from short personality, motivation and reasoning tests, and adds AI phone screens and spoken skills tests. One subscription starts at €499 a month with unlimited users, priced in euros and finalised with sales. It suits mid-size and large employers hiring in Europe or across several countries.

Stands out for: It scores fit with the specific manager and team, not only the role, and lets you train its models on your own top performers. SWIPE takes about five minutes on a phone, and VOICE grades spoken hard skills and CEFR language level in 40+ languages in under three minutes. User licences are unlimited on every subscription.

Watch out for: Prices are published in euros only, and the final figure depends on a token volume agreed with sales. ATS integration is a paid add-on, not part of the base plan. Data is hosted in Europe. Outcome figures on the site, such as 50% lower turnover, are the vendor's own.

Overview

AssessFirst has built hiring assessments in France since 2002 and moved to a predictive model in 2012. The vendor says 3,500 companies in 40 countries use it and 5 million people have taken its tests. Its three core tests are SWIPE for personality, built on the Five-Factor Model and about five minutes long on mobile; DRIVE for motivations; and BRAIN for reasoning and learning ability.

Results are matched against 2,500+ predefined job profiles or profiles you build, including ones based on your current high performers. The same data predicts how a candidate will work with a named manager and team, and is reused after hiring for talent mapping, internal mobility and development plans. COPILOT, the AI assistant, turns a profile into interview questions, watch-outs and management advice.

Two newer AI products sit in front of the tests. SCAN replaces the first screening call with an automated phone interview that checks role essentials and sends qualified candidates on to the assessments. VOICE is a spoken assessment of under three minutes that scores technical skills and language level on the CEFR scale in 40+ languages.

Pricing is one subscription from €499 a month with unlimited user licences and a shared token balance that stays valid for up to 60 months. Token prices fall with volume, and the final price is agreed with a sales expert. AssessFirst connects natively to 35+ ATS and HR systems, including Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, SmartRecruiters and Bullhorn, and offers an open API. It states GDPR and CCPA compliance, ISO 27001-certified infrastructure and an external fairness audit by Holistic AI.
