Who this path is for
Sourcers and recruiters who spend most of the week searching and messaging. The path starts with how to brief AI, moves through search, contact data and outreach, and ends with searches that run on a schedule while you work on something else.
Tick each step as you finish it. Your ticks are saved in this browser only. Every stage ends with one thing to try on a live req.

Stage 1: Brief the machine
Most weak AI search results come from a weak brief. Learn what the tools are and how to tell them what you need.
- Read: What is AI in recruiting?
- Read: Chatbot vs copilot vs AI agent
- Read: How do you write AI prompts for recruiting?
- Read: How do you set up projects for your recruiting desk?
- Live req: add your title variants and exclusion lists to the playbook builder, then paste the playbook into a project for your hardest search.
Stage 2: Search
Use semantic search for reach and Boolean for precision, and look in your own database before the open market.
- Read: What is AI sourcing?
- Read: Semantic search vs Boolean search
- Build a string with the Boolean search builder and compare it with one from the sourcing prompts.
- Read: How does AI rediscover candidates already in your database?
- Live req: run the same search three ways (your ATS or CRM first, then Boolean, then semantic) and note which found the best five people.
Stage 3: Contact and outreach
Find the right email or phone, keep your domain healthy and write messages people answer.
- Read: What is contact data enrichment?
- Read: What candidate data can you put into ChatGPT?
- Read: How do you personalize outreach with AI without landing in spam?
- Check your sending domain with the SPF, DKIM and DMARC checker.
- Live req: draft ten first messages with the outreach prompts, run each through the spam checker, edit them yourself and send.
Stage 4: Put it on a schedule
Hand the repeat work to a schedule or an AI teammate, and keep a person on every message that goes out.
- Read: How do scheduled tasks work for recruiters?
- Read: What is an AI teammate like Grok Bot? Then try the Grok Bot sourcing tutorial.
- Read: How do you automate a recruiting workflow?
- Set up the quiet candidate follow ups from the automation recipes and read its first three runs closely.
- Live req: schedule your best search from stage 2 to run every Monday and compare the new names with what you found by hand.
Quick answers
Is Boolean search dead?
No. Semantic search finds people who describe the same work in different words, and Boolean still gives you exact control. Stage 2 shows how to use both in one search.
Can an AI teammate send outreach for me?
It can draft and queue it, but keep an approval step before anything is sent. A wrong message at scale costs more than the time it saves.
