What it does

Paste or upload a lead list. Remove duplicates and bad emails, fix typos and name capitals, split full names. Nothing is uploaded.

Use the tool

Why it matters: every list you buy, export or scrape arrives messy. The same person shows up twice with different capitals, emails carry stray spaces or a mailto: prefix, names come in ALL CAPS, and a few addresses point at shared inboxes or throwaway domains. Sending to that list wastes credits in your sequencer and email verifier, and bounces and duplicate touches hurt the sender reputation every later email depends on. Clean it first, then verify what is left.

Clean your lead list

Paste rows from a spreadsheet or upload a CSV. Get back one clean file with duplicates gone, emails tidied and names fixed. Your list never leaves this page.

Copy cells from Excel or Google Sheets and paste, or upload a .csv, .tsv or .txt file (up to 50,000 rows). One email per line works too.

What to fix

Runs in your browser. Your list is not uploaded, stored or sent anywhere. It checks that each email is written correctly, not that the inbox exists.

How it works

  • Paste cells straight from Excel or Google Sheets, or upload a CSV, TSV or TXT export from your CRM, ATS or data tool. One email per line works too.
  • Tick what you want fixed and tap Clean list. The cleaner finds your email, name, company and LinkedIn columns by itself; open Columns we found to correct a guess.
  • Check the preview. Changed cells are shaded yellow and new columns blue, and the summary counts every fix and every removed row.
  • Download the clean CSV, download the removed rows with the reason for each, or copy just the emails.

What it fixes

FixWhat happens
DuplicatesRows with the same email are removed, ignoring capitals and spaces. Rows with no email are matched on LinkedIn URL, then on the whole row. The first copy is kept
Email formatSpaces, capitals, mailto: prefixes, angle brackets and trailing punctuation are stripped. “Name <email>” becomes just the email. Rows whose email still is not valid are removed or flagged
Email typosCommon domain slips such as gmial.com, hotmial.com, yahooo.com and .con endings are corrected
Email typeA new column tags each address as Work, Personal (gmail.com, yahoo.com and similar), Role (info@, jobs@, hr@) or Disposable. You can remove any of the last three
NamesNames typed in ALL CAPS or all lowercase get proper capitals, including O’Brien, McDonald and van der Berg. Names already in mixed case are left alone
Full name splitA full name column becomes First name and Last name. Titles such as Dr. and credentials such as PhD or SHRM-CP are dropped, and “Last, First” order is turned around
LinkedIn URLsTracking codes and odd formats are removed, so every profile reads https://www.linkedin.com/in/name/
WhitespaceExtra, leading and non-breaking spaces are removed from every cell, and empty rows are dropped

What it does not do

  • It does not check that an inbox exists. It checks that each address is written correctly. Run the clean list through an email verifier before you send.
  • It does not find missing emails or phone numbers. For that, use a contact data tool.
  • It does not upload, store or share your list. The file is read on your device and the widget never makes a network request.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to paste candidate or prospect data here?

Yes. The cleaner runs in your browser, so the list stays on your computer. There is no account, no upload and no network request from the widget. That is the main reason to use it instead of pasting a list into a chatbot. Close the tab or clear the box when you are done if you are on a shared computer.

How big a list can it clean?

Up to 50,000 rows or 15 MB per file. A full list of that size cleans in about a second on a normal laptop. Split larger exports into smaller files and clean each one.

Should I clean a list before I verify it?

Yes. Most email verifiers charge per address, so removing duplicates and addresses that are written wrong first means you pay to check fewer emails. Clean here, then send what is left to your verifier.

Should I remove info@ and jobs@ addresses from a cold email list?

Usually. Shared inboxes rarely reach the person you want, several people may read them, and they are more likely to report a cold email as spam. They are kept by default and tagged Role, so you can decide. Tick Remove shared inboxes to drop them.

Why are gmail.com addresses kept?

Because recruiters often email candidates at personal addresses. For business development lists, where you want work emails only, tick Remove personal addresses.

Will it open properly in Excel?

Yes. The download is a UTF-8 CSV that Excel, Google Sheets and CRM importers read with accented names intact. Cells that start with = or @ get a leading apostrophe so a spreadsheet cannot run them as formulas.

Next steps for a clean list: Email verification (check inboxes before you send), Outreach (sequencers) and Deliverability (warmup and inbox placement). Writing the first email? Run it through the cold email spam checker.
