Bottom line
Permission based email marketing for staffing firms and HR teams that send a candidate newsletter, job alert or client update to people who opted in. Lite starts at $12/mo for the smallest contact tier, with a 30-day free trial capped at 100 sends and live phone support on every plan. It does not allow bought, rented or scraped lists, so it is a nurture tool, not a cold outreach tool.
Stands out for: Event registration with payments sits on every plan, so a hiring event, open house or career fair can be promoted, booked and followed up from the same contact list. Live phone and chat support is included even on the $12 Lite plan.
Watch out for: Contacts must have opted in: purchased, rented or scraped lists are against its rules, so sourced candidate or prospect lists cannot be emailed from it. Price rises with contact count, sends over the monthly allowance cost $2 per 1,000, and Lite allows one user and one automation.
Overview
Constant Contact is one of the oldest email marketing platforms, used mainly by small businesses and nonprofits. Recruiting teams use it for the permission based side of candidate and client communication: a talent community newsletter, new job alerts, event invitations and updates to clients who signed up.
Every plan includes the drag and drop editor with templates, an AI copy generator, web sign up forms, social posting to Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, event registration with payments, and live phone and chat support. Standard adds email scheduling, subject line A/B testing, resend to non-openers, an AI campaign builder, 10 segments and open and click reporting for three users. Premium adds unlimited users, automations and segments, dynamic content and 500 SMS messages a month.
Its permission policy is the main thing to know before buying. Constant Contact does not allow purchased, rented or scraped email lists, so it suits contacts who applied, registered or subscribed, not lists built with a sourcing or email finder tool. SMS is a US only add-on from $10/mo on Lite and Standard.
The marketing platform has a V3 REST API and more than 300 integrations, including Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Canva, Zapier and Eventbrite. A separate product, Constant Contact for Agents, runs a vendor hosted MCP server for sending transactional email from Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini, on its own account.
Lite starts at $12/mo, Standard at $35/mo and Premium at $80/mo, each rising with contact count, with up to 15% off for prepaying 12 months. The free trial lasts 30 days with up to 100 sends, and paid plans carry a 30-day money back guarantee.

MCP server
https://mcp.ctct.dev/mcp
Constant Contact runs a vendor hosted MCP server at mcp.ctct.dev/mcp, but it belongs to Constant Contact for Agents, a separate transactional email product with its own account and API key. It lets Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and ChatGPT (Developer mode on Business, Enterprise and Edu) send, schedule and track emails, with production sends needing explicit confirmation. It does not reach the contacts and campaigns in a regular Constant Contact marketing account; those use the V3 REST API.
